Orientation and Induction

POLLARD INSTITUTE is committed to ensuring that the information it provides to clients and students is accurate, relevant and up to date. When you commence your course at the Institute your trainer will ensure that you receive orientation and induction into the course.

During your intake and orientation sessions your trainer will ensure that you are briefed on:

  1. the syllabus and content of the coarse;

  2. the qualification or accreditation gained on completion;

  3. the duration of the course;

  4. the teaching methods used (including any field trip or work experience requirements);

  5. the assessment methods used;

  6. if another provider is also involved in providing the course, the location of course delivery by that provider;

  7. details of any arrangements with other providers for recognition of the course or completed components of the course;

  8. an itemised list of all fees payable to the Institute;

  9. information about the minimum level of English language proficiency, educational qualifications and work experience required for the student to be accepted for the course (unless this is clearly not relevant); and

  10. a general description of:

i.   the facilities (for example classrooms, furniture, fittings);

ii.  the equipment (for example audio-visual teaching aids);

iii. the learning resources (for example reference texts and

     software) available to students undertaking the course.
