As a business grows, there needs to be staff that understand business management concepts and can apply them within the workplace. This course will provide participants with the skills that a manager needs to manage the staff within departments. Quite often it is difficult to find staff that have this ability so training training in this qualification may improve your employment prospects and have you achieve the business results that are required by your employer. This course delivers the skills but all projects relate to business situations, so that he transfer of learning to the workplace is high and immediate improvements in the workplace should occur.

We provide the learning in whichever format to make sure that you gain the skills (face-to-face and flexible). The course consists of 5 core and 3 elective units so you can select the units that will help you to improve your career prospects and skills:
Core
- Manage Personal Work Priorities and Professional Development – Develop the necessary skills required to be organized, manage the work of others and become a role model. Determine your own personal, leadership and management development needs whilst learning how to be self-managed. Become skilled at measuring your own performance, establishing work goals, setting priorities and develop your own plan for professional development.
- Ensure Team Effectiveness - Learn the necessary skills, techniques and shortcuts to leading and motivating an efficient and effective team within the workplace. Develop the ability to create team performance plans, strengthen communication and resolve conflict between team members and all stakeholders. Become skilled at leading your team whilst serving as a role model to all staff.
- Develop a Workplace Learning Environment – Develop the ability to create a healthy learning environment whilst successfully encouraging and supporting staff learning and performance. Become skilled at monitoring learning so that it can be improved and supported by the organization procedures and systems.
- Manage Quality Customer Service – Become an indispensible member of your team as you learn the essentials of customer service and giving an exceptional customer experience. Understand and develop your ability to get involved, evaluate and improve existing customer service strategies within your organization, together with techniques for resolving complaints.
- Manage Budgets and Financial Plans – Become a shining star within your organization as you learn and start applying the skills of financial management to the company or department that you are working in. Develop the skills necessary to review, monitor and evaluate existing financial management processes, plan improvements, control finances and manage your team to achieve financial outcomes.
Electives – Management
- Manage Operational Plan – Develop a solid grasp of innovative operational models that will assist you to examine strategies for operational improvements and developing operational plans. Gain experience in implementing, resourcing, monitoring and reviewing operational performance for efficiency and effectiveness. Become skilled at implementing coaching and mentoring support staff to achieve performance whilst also monitoring performance against budgetary targets.
- Facilitate Continuous Improvement - Learn the fundamentals of continuous improvement as well as how to manage the improvement of systems and processes within the workplace. Put your newfound knowledge to the test with practical workplace application as you gain experience in identifying areas in your workplace that could be improved in addition to finding better ways to monitor and manage these improvements.
- Manage Projects – Learn and apply the skills required to plan, carry out, manage and mentor people to complete team projects within timelines, quality standards and budgetary limits. Become skilled at finalizing and reviewing the project to identify learnings for the future.
Electives - People
- Show Leadership in the Workplace – Develop your ability and understanding of managing staff with the professionalism and encouragement expected from a Frontline Manager. Become proficient in essential skills such as effective planning and leadership as well as having the chance to apply these abilities in many interactive workshops and practical examples.
- Provide Mentoring and Coaching within the Workplace – Gain the knowledge to manage the mentoring and coaching process within your organization to achieve all personal, individual and business goals. Learn to identify areas for improvement while determining and managing the appropriate resources to maximize staff performance.
- Lead and Manage a Sales Team – Develop the required skill to plan, implement, direct and evaluate sales team activities. Gain the skills required to implement the sales system into the workplace that empowers and delivers the results from your sales team.
- Ensure a safe Workplace – Learn the essential skills required to ensure the safety of your workplace and the wellbeing of your staff. Gain the knowledge and expertise required to establish, maintain and evaluate your organisation’s occupational health and safety policies, procedures and programs in accordance with OHS legal requirements.
Electives – Auditing
- Initiate a quality audit – Develop the skills necessary to initiate and organise a quality audit. Gain the knowledge required to conduct external and internal systems audits, process audits as well as product and service audits.
- Lead a quality audit – Develop the skills and expertise vital to lead a team though a quality audit. Acquire an in-depth knowledge of entry and exit meetings, identification and gathering of relevant information, managing audit team resources and giving feedback.
- Report on quality audit – Learn to report on the outcomes of a quality audit whilst also taking the necessary follow up action. Become proficient in compiling audit results, preparing reports for auditees, negotiating follow-up action as well as monitoring and reviewing the auditing system.
